The standstill of the Luminary of Romanian literature Eminescu - Edmonton, Windsor, Montreal and Vancouver
January 15th has an important significance for Romanians. It is the birthday of the national poet Mihai Eminescu. Also, this day was declared by the Romanian Academy the National Culture Day.
During the Homage Year of the Romanian pastoral care for Romanians Romanian culture lovers from Canada participated in an evening of Romanian poetry and prose via zoom which was organized with the blessings of HG Bishop Ioan Casian by the diocese center of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Canada.
The encounter was titled - Four stops in Canada - four provinces - one culture - in which some representative poetic and literary texts from Romanian poets and prose writers were recited (Eminescu, Crainic, Z. Lațcu, Iorga, A. Păunescu, N. Stănescu, Minulescu, Radu Gyr, V. Militaru, T. Dorz etc.), informs Ștefanos Athenagoras from the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Canada.

Statues dedicated to the great Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu can be found in several locations in Canada, including: (Montreal/ Quebec) Romania Square, (Windsor/Ontario) St. George's Cathedral, (Edmonton/Alberta) Sts. Constantine and Helen Cathedral, (Vancouver-Surrey/British-Columbia) St. Nicholas & St. Prophet Elijah Parish.
