At the initiative and with blessings of His Grace Bishop Ioan Casian at St. George's Cathedral Saint-Hubert, Quebec, Monday, February 17, took place the first Day Camp, for young Romanian students from the Montreal area.
This is a catechetic project dedicated to Homage Year of Pastoral Ministry of Parents and Children in the Romanian Patriarchate. The day camp had various activities: religious lessons and competitions on religious topics, prayers and psaltic songs, but also workshops to create “ marțișoare” Romanian spring symbols and cooking classes. All the activities have the purpose of strengthening the relations among children, encourage friendship and family relation in the Church.
Curious and happy to discover the iconostasis and to listen to the explanations of Rev. Fr. Constantin Lupașcu who guided them, the little participants were eager to play and compete in the snow or to taste sweets prepared by themselves. The children had a wonderful day together with friends and colleagues.
