On the sixth Sunday after Pentecost, Bishop Ioan Casian was among the faithful of the Cathedral in Saint-Hubert, Quebec.
The miracle of the healing of the paralytic of Capernaum in the Gospel of Matthew emphasizes the importance of faith in the act of healing - said the hierarch of Canada. Faith gives that boldness to the paralytic that Jesus speaks of. The boldness of faith drew the sick near God. He receives the forgiveness of sins and with it also the healing of the body. The forgiveness of sins as attribute of God is granted in the Church through the Sacrament of Confession. It provides healing of human weaknesses and helps man not to lose sight of the life of heaven.
By the need for forgiveness of sins there are two things that man confesses: the first is the gift of the life of perfection he has received in heaven; the second is faith in God from which he asks for forgiveness. It is a implicit confession of God's existence, but also of falling away and disobedience.
Along with Bishop Ioan Casian in the celebration was present Rev. Fr. Sorin Șerban dean of Sãcele in Archdiocese of Sibiu. He was was visiting Canada with all his family – presvitera Laura Cristiana and the children Teodor, Maria and Emanuel.
At the end of the service, the hierarch of Canada blessed those present.
