Saturday February 2nd His Grace Bishop Ioan Casian was present at the Divine Liturgy at St. George Cathedral. Along with him was present Rev. Fr. Daniel Sandu the priest of the Cathedral.

The Feast of the Presentation of the Lord to the Temple shows us the great humility of God - said the hierarch of Canada. Christ is obedient to the ordinances of the Old Testament law, showing through it unity and solidarity with us, but also His humility. The Savior Christ is in unity with the other persons of the Holy Trinity by divinity, but at the same time he is in solidarity with man through the human nature of the Virgin Mary and by the fulfillment of the ordinances of the Law as man. It manifests in this way His special humility, through which He manifest visibly His belonging to the people of God. He is offered to us as a human gift, but the Saint Simeon understands that He is the Messiah who came for our salvation. Through the eyes of Simeon and Ana, humanity looks at the beginning of the fulfillment of our way of salvation. Simeon and Ana express the long expectation of humanity to be rid of sin and death.
