Meeting of the Coordination Committee of Military Chaplains
in the Canadian Armed Forces
On Thursday, January 22, the virtual meeting of the Interfaith Committee on Canadian Military Chaplaincy (ICCMC) took place.
His Grace Bishop Ioan Casian participated in the meeting as a representative of the Canadian Conference of Orthodox Bishops (CCOB). The meeting was also attended by representatives of other Christian denominations, various religious and spiritual traditions, as well as representatives of the Office of the Chaplain General of the Canadian Armed Forces.
During the discussions, details were addressed regarding the orientation and future directions of the Office of the Chaplain General, in the context of the recent administrative reorganization and ongoing spiritual reorientation.
Subsequently, a presentation was delivered outlining the particular situation of the province of Quebec from historical, cultural, educational, and administrative perspectives. This was followed by a question-and-answer session, during which participants sought to gain a better understanding of the context in which military chaplains will carry out their ministry in the province of Quebec.
The meeting concluded with the scheduling of the next in-person meeting of the Interfaith Committee on Canadian Military Chaplaincy (ICCMC).
