Moment of spiritual refreshment in „Saint Mary” parish from Timmins, ON

With the blessing and entrustment of His Grace Ioan Casian, Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Canada, the "Saint Mary" parish in Timmins, ON, was visited, between June 14-16, 2024, by Protosyncell Maxim Morariu, the ecclesiarch of the Episcopal Cathedral and diocesan inspector. Thus, on these days, the faithful took part in the service of the Holy Liturgy (Saturday and Sunday), but also the commemoration of the dead and the sanctification of houses.

With a church dating back to the interwar period, St. Mary's Parish in Timmins is one of the oldest in the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Canada. Since, at the moment, there is no permanent priest here, with the blessing of His Grace Ioan Casian, the priest monks of the diocese (the protosyncell Corneliu Andrașco, the protosyncell Maxim Morari PhD, the hieromonk father Policarp), moves here monthly to meet the spiritual needs of the faithful.

With the support and donations of local people, but also of supporters such as the "Lyons Schumacher Club" or "Canadian Tire", the parish church is currently undergoing roof renovation works.

On Sunday, in the sermon during the Holy Liturgy, Father Maxim conveyed to the participants (of different nationalities), the blessing thoughts of the first Romanian Archbishop of the Canadian lands. In turn, they expressed their gratitude for His Eminence's care. Praised be God for everything!

Protosyncell Maxim Morari PhD
