Commemoration of Heroes Martyred in Communist Prisons
at the Episcopal Cathedral "Saint Great Martyr George and Saint Martyrs Epictetus and Astion" in Saint-Hubert, QC
On March 9, 2024, at the Episcopal Cathedral "Holy Martyr George and the Holy Martyrs Epictet and Astion" in Saint-Hubert, QC, His Grace Ioan Casian, the Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Canada, celebrated the Holy Liturgy. Together with His Grace served protos. Dr. Maxim Morariu and father Adrian Manea.
At the end of the Holy Liturgy, His Eminence performed the Parastas service for the heroes who suffered in the communist prisons and since the event coincided with the winter estates, the commemoration of the dead. Since it has already become a tradition at the level of the Diocese, for the second consecutive year, the Romanian sailors from the Montreal area also gathered to offer prayers for the repose of the souls of their colleagues who have passed into eternity, but also for their colleagues who died in conditions heroic over time. Praised be God for everything!
Protos. Dr. Maxim Morariu
