The beginning of the new church year at the Episcopal Cathedral "Saint George the Great Martyr and Saints Epictetus and Astion" in Saint-Hubert, QC
The beginning of the new church year was marked by a series of liturgical events at the Episcopal Cathedral "The Great Martyr George and the Holy Martyrs Epictetus and Astion" in Saint-Hubert, QC. The events began with the Divine Liturgy, celebrated by His Grace Ioan Casian, the Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Canada. Next to His Eminence was Fr. Protosynchell PhD. Maxim Morariu, the ecclesiarch of the Cathedral. They then continued with the Tedeum service and prayers of thanksgiving for the past year and the beginning of the new year.
At the end, the Chiriarch provided a sermon where he spoke to those present about the significance of the beginning of the church year and about the message he conveys to the faithful.
"Today must also be an opportunity for us to take stock and start anew. Let's use it by thinking about the good and not so good things that we have done in the past year and arrange our lives in such a way that we do not repeat the unfortunate experiences, but manage to put prayer in the foreground, the good and the service of God", emphasized His Eminence.
Praised be the Lord for all!
(notes by Protosynchell PhD. Maxim Morariu, the ecclesiarch of the Cathedral)
