Project in final stage at Mono Monastery
On Sunday evening, June 25 and Monday, June 26, His Grace Bishop Ioan Casian made a pastoral visit to the monastery dedicated to Exaltation of the Holy Cross and St. Ephrem the New in Mono (Ontario). Not long ago, a project was started to build an open pavilion on the monastery plateau that could be used for outside community activities and religious services. The pavilion is nearing completion.
Father Hegumen Polycarp had an instrumental role in the relationship with the work teams, in mobilizing the pilgrims and the local community. He also showed at each stage the status of the project to all interested pilgrims and donors. Also, the members of the monastery council participated in the necessary decision-making in this regard. Mr. Marius Răzvan - the architect who made the plans for the pavilion - was very helpful.
The Romanian hierarch of Canada was able to see the project and admired the speed with which it was executed. He spoke about his hosting possibilities which are special, about the prospects in the development of religious and social activities in this place and other things.
Also on this occasion, on the morning of Monday, HG Bishop Ioan Casian celebrated the Divine Liturgy with Hegumen Polycarp by his side.
All those interested in the Mono monastery and the future activities and projects of the monastery are invited to contact Father Hegumen Polycarp for more details and for the various possibilities to help the monastery through donations or volunteering (www.monasterymono.org).
