The poet and writer Mihai Eminescu commemorated at the Episcopal Cathedral in Saint-Hubert, QC
On June 15, BC, the poet and writer Mihai Eminescu was commemorated at the Episcopal Cathedral "The Great Martyr George and the Holy Martyrs Epictet and Astion" from Saint-Hubert, QC. After the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, His Grace Ioan Casian has celebrated, accompanied by a council of priests, the commemoration service for greatest Romanian writer of all time. His Grace was also accompanied by the protos father. Dr. Maxim Morariu, the ecclesiarch of the Cathedral and Father Deacon Valentin Boțu.
At the end of the event, by the entrusting and with the blessing of the Romanian Chiriarch of the Canadian lands, protos. Dr. Maxim Morariu briefly evoked the personality and the cultural and spiritual legacy left to posterity by the great poet.
"One of the essential things, to which the longevity of the great writer's work and thought is linked, is the fact that the true Romanian language has its roots closely linked to the Church and Orthodoxy. Reading his poetry, we see how the most elegant and subtle forms of lyrical expression contain, without any exception, references to the religious space, without which Mihai Eminescu could not have conceived of existence. Because, like many other cultural people of all the times, he understood why the term „culture” has its origins in the one of „cult”", emphasized Father Maxim.
Praised be the Lord for everything!
