The feast of Sts. Emperors Constantine and Helen at St. Nectarios Orthodox Mission
in Kelowna, BC
The days of May 20 and 21, 2023 were particularly special for the parishioners of the newly established St. Nectarios Orthodox Mission in Kelowna, BC.
On Saturday evening May 20 Father Ciprian Roman and the parishioners sung and read by candlelight the Paraklisis of the Mother of God at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church St. Apostles Peter and Paul in Kelowna, BC where Mission is currently holding the Divine Liturgy.
The Sunday of May 21 on the feast of Sts. Constantine and Helen, the Divine Liturgy was celebrate followed by a Memorial Service at which participated Romanian, Canadian, Russian, Ukrainian and Greek parishioners commemorating in prayers their beloved ones gone to the Lord. The beauty of the Orthodox services in Kelowna is also given by the participation of Orthodox communities of different nationalities, when the Creed and Our Father are recited in everyone's language. Father Ciprian, by God's mercy, lovingly builds a multi-ethnic Orthodox community eager to lay a good foundation for a project of the soul.
The program ended with a picnic in the Kismen park attended by Romanians, Greeks, Canadians and others.
Saint Nectarios pray to God for us!
