The feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God at the Episcopal Cathedral "Saint George the Great Martyr" in Saint-Hubert, Quebec

At the Episcopal Cathedral "Saint George the Great Martyr" from Saint-Hubert, Quebec, the Feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God began on the eve of the celebration with the vespers service with Litia, performed in a council of priests by His Grace Ioan Casian, the first Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Canada. The celebration continued the next day with the Matins service and then with the Holy Liturgy, led by His Grace.

At the end of the Holy Liturgy, the bishop gave a sermon where he spoke about the importance of the fact that the church year is guarded by two great feasts dedicated to the Mother of God:

"The church year opens with the Feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God and ends with that of her Assumption. Through the way these holidays are thought, the Church sets before us both examples worthy of following and teaches us how we can advance on the path of salvation and at the same time, invites us to reiterate, in a combined form, the earthly journey of the Mother of God and the essential events that marked him", emphasized His Grace.

Afterwards, the Hierarch spoke about the example of the Mother of God and showed how important her role as an intercessor before God is, to what extent her purity serves as a model for us, and he wished happy birthday to all those who find themselves also from an onomastic perspective under her protection. The event was attended by many believers from the locality and the surrounding area. Pglory to the Lord for everything!
