Pan-Orthodox Vespers on Sunday of Orthodoxy in Toronto
His Eminence Archbishop Sotirios of the Greek Archdiocese of Canada presided over the Pan-Orthodox Vespers held this year at St. Pantelimon Greek Parish in Markham, Toronto on Sunday, March 13, 2020. A number of approx. 30 priests and deacons from the GTA area from different canonical Orthodox jurisdictions were presents. The Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Canada was represented by Rev. Fr. Viorel Țencaliuc - dean, Rev. Fr. Vasile Aileni, Rev. Fr. Emanuel Ionuț Țencaliuc and hieromonk Policarp.
At the end of the Vespers, the Greek hierarch participated in the traditional procession with icons of priests and believers singing the troparion of Orthodoxy. “We venerate Your most pure image, O Good One, and ask forgiveness of our transgressions, O Christ God. Of Your own will You were pleased to ascend the Cross in the flesh to deliver Your creatures from bondage to the enemy. Therefore, with thanksgiving we cry aloud to You: You have filled all with joy, O our Savior, by coming to save the world” in several languages and in Romanian by the protopsalt of All Saints Parish Tudor Dragomir.
Special prayers were said for peace in Ukraine and around the world.
Rev. Fr. Bohdan Hladio the president of Clergy Association Brotherly, thanked the priests and the faithful for their service and participation, as well as Archbishop Sotiriors, Bishop Andriy, Auxiliry-bishop Athenagoras and Father Nikodimos Kodogeorgakis, the parish priest of the host community.
